Dana and Feynan

Nestled in the rugged beauty of Jordan’s landscape, the Wadi Dana Biosphere Reserve stands as a breathtaking testament to nature’s splendour. This remarkable reserve encompasses sweeping desert plains, dramatic cliffs, winding trails, and rich biodiversity, with the opportunity to spot an array of wildlife, including ibex, foxes, and various bird species. The dramatic mountains and valleys of the Wadi Dana Biosphere Reserve are an ideal location to get to grips with nature, enjoy a variety of hiking trails and visit some minor archaeological sites.

A spectacular five-hour walking trail leads from the Dana Guest House, descends to the floor of Wadi Dana through an ever-changing landscape, and then continues to the western edge of the reserve to Feynan Eco Lodge. This walk requires a good level of fitness. Other shorter walking trails exist from both trailheads that will take you off the beaten track and expose you to some of the area’s spectacular scenery. Accommodation at Wadi Dana and Wadi Feynan is basic, but the starry skies are breathtaking.
