The Jordan Family Holiday is a fabulous activity-packed adventure that also includes plenty of pool time. We’ll take you and your family off on a hassle-free chauffeur-driven journey through Jordan’s otherworldly landscapes that will be familiar to all fans of ‘Star Wars, ‘Indiana Jones’, and ‘Lawrence of Arabia’! From sleeping under the stars in the desert of Wadi Rum to snorkelling over pristine off-shore reefs in the Red Sea, discovering the stunning rock-hewn ruins of the ‘lost’ city of Petra, baking bread with locals, and taking a mud bath and floating on the Dead Sea, this family holiday will create lasting shared memories.

From the moment you touch down in Amman until you are dropped off again at the airport at the end of your private tour, we’ll take care of every detail. This well-paced journey includes stays in some of Jordan’s best hotels and balances adventure and experiences with time for relaxation.

With only a five-hour flight and a two-hour time difference separating the UK and Jordan, a Jordan family holiday is within easy reach and is ideal if you are looking to take a holiday between March and November.

Day 1 Arrive Amman

Land at Amman International Airport under your own arrangements (if you would like a quote for international flights, please ask us). On arrival, a Corinthian Travel representative will meet you and transfer you to your chosen Amman hotel.

Day 2 Jerash, arrive in Petra

Visit Jerash, one of the best preserved Roman cities in the Middle East, where you can see where the gladiators once fought and walk down streets that once thronged with toga-clad citizens and merchants. After a Lebanese-style lunch, take the Desert Highway to Petra.

Day 3 Petra

Today, you’ll discover the magical ruins of the ‘lost’ city of Petra – voted one of the New Wonders of the World. In the popular imagination, the site will forever be associated with the film Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade but was in reality carved from the living rock by the Nabataean Arabs some two thousand years ago. A buffet lunch will be provided at the site. The afternoon is free to continue exploring Petra independently.

Day 4 Arrive in Aqaba (Red Sea)

Roll up your sleeves and learn to bake bread with locals, then have a traditional lunch of Galayah Bandoora before driving to the Red Sea coast, where the remainder of the day will be at leisure to relax and enjoy your hotel’s facilities.

Day 5 Red Sea (Snorkelling)

The Red Sea’s colourful coral reefs and exotic fish are considered some of the world’s finest. On today’s (shared) boat snorkelling excursion, you and your family will have a fabulous marine adventure, visiting at least two pristine off-shore snorkelling locations before returning to base in the late afternoon. Private charters can be arranged.

Day 6 Aqaba (Red Sea)

Free to relax and enjoy your hotel’s pools and facilities in Aqaba.

Day 7 Wadi Rum (Camel Ride)

After a morning at leisure in Aqaba, you’ll be driven to Wadi Rum where you’ll mount camels and set off on a ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ style desert adventure across the desert sands. Enjoy a typical Bedouin meal and overnight under canvas this evening at your scenically located tented camp. The desert sky at night can be amazing, and we highly recommend bringing a stargazing guide!

Day 8 Wadi Rum (Jeep safari), Kerak, arrive at the Dead Sea

Start the day with an optional hot-air balloon ride (supplement applies) to see the magnificent spectacle of dawn over the desert. After breakfast, experience the thrill of a 4WD desert safari (90 minutes) before driving north to Kerak where you’ll visit the vast Crusader castle. Arrive at the Dead Sea late afternoon.

Day 9 Dead Sea

Today will be at leisure by the Dead Sea which, at 430 metres below sea level, is the lowest point on dry land on Earth. Here, you may experience the unique sensation of floating cork-like in its waters, have fun with a mud bath, and benefit from the region’s unique dry climate with its weakened ultraviolet radiation and high oxygen content.

Day 10 Farewell to Jordan
