Committed to protecting your privacy
Corinthian Travel respects and understands the importance of your privacy. The Privacy Policy below sets out the basis on which we will process any personal data we collect from you or that you provide to us via this website or other correspondence.
In all cases, we promise to adhere to the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and the Data Protection Act 1998. We, Corinthian Travel Ltd, are the Data Controller for the www.corinthiantravel.co.uk website. By making a purchase or by submitting your personal data via this website, by telephone, or by written correspondence, you agree to its storage and processing as set out below.
Information we collect and why:
There are three main ways in which we collect your personal information:
1. Personal Information for marketing use
We collect personal details, such as your name, address, telephone number, and email address, only when you use our website to send us an enquiry, order a brochure, register for competitions, events, shows, or promotions, or sign up to receive our email newsletters.
In these instances, we may use the personal data we collect to contact you by post and/or electronic means (e-mail or text message) with information and offers relating to similar products or services about which you enquired or expressed an interest. Should you provide us with your postal address, we may also contact you if we are holding a travel-related event in your area, or if we will be exhibiting at a travel-related show near you.
We will only do this if you did not opt out of such marketing when we collected your contact details or if you have subsequently opted out. If you opt out of receiving marketing when making an enquiry or brochure request (or subsequently), these will be the only basis of our correspondence with you.
Opting out of marketing use:
You have the right at any time to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by ticking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data.
You can exercise your right to opt out at any time by sending an unsubscribe request to: The Marketing Team, Corinthian Travel, Ground Floor, 118 Tachbrook Street, London, SW1V 2ND. You can also call us on 020 3583 6089.
To opt out of receiving our marketing emails, simply click the link at the bottom of any emails. However, should you wish to opt out of ALL marketing communications, please call us on 020 3583 6089 or write to us at the address above.
2. Personal information for booking and travel arrangements
In order to process your booking and to ensure that your travel arrangements run smoothly and meet your requirements, we need to use the information you provide, such as name, address, any special needs/dietary requirements, etc.
We take full responsibility for ensuring that the correct security measures are in place to protect your information. We must pass the information on to the relevant suppliers of your travel arrangements, such as your cruise line, tour operator, airlines, hotels, transport companies, etc. The information may also be provided to security or credit-checking companies and public authorities, such as customs/immigration, if required by them or as required by law.
Information we collect may be ‘sensitive personal data’ (for example ‘, special requirements’ information relating to disability, diet, health or religion), in which case we will only collect, retain and pass it on with your consent.
3. Automatically collected information
When you visit our website, we collect and temporarily store certain elements of technical information about your visit and behaviour. To do this, Corinthian Travel uses Google Analytics and Cookies.
The information we store can include the type of browser (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc) you used, your operating system (Mac, Windows), the type of device you used (Mobile phone, desktop PC, tablet), the date and time you used our site and the pages you visited.
We store this information so that we can further improve the online experience for our visitors. At no time do we make any attempt to identify you as an individual. Raw data logs are retained temporarily as required for security and site management purposes.
Our Cookie Policy
A cookie is a piece of code downloaded onto your PC when you visit a website. Certain cookies are necessary in order for you to use the Corinthian Travel website. These are used ‘in-session’ each time you visit and expire when you leave the site. They’re not stored on your computer, and they don’t contain any personal data. You can delete them via your browser if you wish to, but this will restrict the functions that you’re able to carry out on our sites.
At Corinthian Travel we use cookies in a number of ways to help enhance your experience whilst browsing our website.
Session Cookies:
Session cookies enable you to carry out some essential functions on our website. They also help by minimising the need to transfer information across the internet. They are not stored on your computer and expire when you terminate your browser session.
Performance Tracking Cookies:
These cookies do several jobs related to our website’s performance: they report how well our website suits your needs, help us identify problem areas, and report on the efficiency of our advertising.
They enable us to recognise repeat visitors to the site. By matching an anonymous, randomly generated identifier, we can record specific browsing information, such as how you arrive at the site, the pages you view, the options you select, and the path you take through the site. By monitoring this information, we can improve our sites.
We use Google Analytics to analyse page use, page interactions, and customer routes through our sites, which are known as ‘web metrics’.
We use Hotjar to better understand our users’ needs and to optimise this service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our user’s experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and don’t like, etc.), and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behaviour and their devices (in particular, the device’s IP address (captured and stored only in anonymised form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), preferred language used to display our website). Hotjar stores this information in a pseudonymised user profile. Neither Hotjar nor we will ever use this information to identify individual users or to match it with further data on an individual user. Please see Hotjar’s privacy policy for further details.
You can opt out of creating a user profile, Hotjar’s storage of data about your usage of our site, and Hotjar’s use of tracking cookies on other websites by asking Hotjar not to collect your data.
These cookies don’t record any personal information you provide during an on-site purchase or any other process.
Targeting Cookies:
We place advertising on the web through our advertising partners, who use targeting cookies to ensure that the ads we show you are relevant to you.
We also use social media buttons that allow you to like or share our website with your social networks. For example, Facebook’s ‘like’ functions or sharing works with cookies, too.
You can accept or block cookies:
You can block any cookies from any website through your browser settings. For more information about disabling cookies in your browser please visit the About Cookies website, allaboutcookies.org. You can also view Google’s Privacy Policy here.
If you share the use of a computer, accepting or rejecting the use of cookies will affect all users of that computer.
Telephone Calls:
We record inbound and outbound telephone calls to ensure the quality of service and for training purposes.

Should you make a booking with Corinthian Travel, we may pass on your personal details to the relevant companies or organisations that need them to ensure your cruise holiday or other service or product can be provided. For example, the shipping line, tour operator, airline, hotel or credit card company. This may include the transfer of information outside the European Economic Area, where data protection controls may differ and/or not as strong as those in the United Kingdom.
When you make a booking or enter into a transaction with Corinthian Travel Limited (which either acts as ‘agent’ or ‘principal’), you consent to our passing on such details. The information may also be provided to security or credit-checking companies and public authorities such as customs/immigration if required by them or as required by law.
We will not, however, pass any information on to any person not responsible for part of your travel arrangements. This applies to any sensitive information that you give to us, such as details of any disabilities or dietary/religious requirements. (If we cannot pass this information to the relevant suppliers, whether in the EEA or not, we cannot provide your booking. In making this booking, you consent to this information being passed on to the relevant persons.).
Your tour operator or other principal will pass your information on to their suppliers (once we have provided it). The tour operator or other principal’s use of your information is subject to their policy, both in respect of your booking and any future marketing, and is their responsibility. Please ask either us or them for a copy of this policy if you would like to see it.
Your right to access any personal data we hold:
The Data Protection Act 1998 (the “Act”) gives you the right to check that your personal data is being processed lawfully (“subject access right”). Your subject access right can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any subject access request must be made in writing to Corinthian Travel, Ground Floor, 118 Tachbrook Street, London, SW1V 2ND.
Information correction & deletions:
If you believe that the information we have about you is incorrect, you are welcome to contact us at any time so that we can update it and keep your data accurate. Any data that is no longer needed will be deleted.
