Sandwiched between the Indian Ocean and a tranquil lagoon, Uga Jungle Beach (as it is simply known) is a charming seaside hideaway set amongst ten acres of wilderness that leads onto a remote bay in the seaside village of Kuchchaveli, 40 minutes from Trincomalee.
The stylish, eco-friendly retreat has 48 well-appointed cabins dotted around the property. Lagoon, Beach and Jungle cabins are similar in size and décor and comprise a bedroom and lounge area that opens to a private timber deck. Lagoon cabins offer views of Periyakarachchi lagoon and the landscaped gardens, while the Jungle Cabins open out to spectacular views of the jungle, and the Beach Cabins are set in close proximity to the Indian Ocean and offer direct, uninterrupted views of the beach. The property also has three Jungle Clusters that are similar in style to the jungle cabins and share a swimming pool.
Uga Jungle Beach’s open-air restaurant serves Sri Lankan and international cuisine prepared using fresh seafood and vegetables from local communities. Leisure facilities include an outdoor pool, gym, well-stocked bar, and a Spa offering Ayurvedic massages. Water sports include snorkelling and deep-sea fishing. Horse riding, cycling, yoga and cookery lessons can be arranged by Uga Jungle Beach on request.
