Turkiye Journey Planner
Five to seven days in Turkiye
With a week in Turkiye, first-time visitors may want to combine visits to the historic city of Istanbul on the shores of the Bosphorus with the incredible lunar-like landscape of Cappadocia and the world-class Roman ruins at Ephesus. Alternatively, you may prefer to focus on a particular area of the country for a more in-depth experience. Five nights immersed in Istanbul’s culture, a week hiking in Cappadocia, or seven nights travelling along the Turquoise Coast are all enticing possibilities. Two-centre combinations such as Istanbul and Cappadocia, Istanbul and Gallipoli or Istanbul and time to relax on the coast in Alacati, Antalya or Bodrum may also appeal.
Ten days to two weeks in Turkiye
Ten days to two weeks in Turkiye is arguably the optimal duration for most visitors as it will enable you to have time to enjoy the sites and explore in greater depth. The classic route is to visit Istanbul, Cappadocia, Ephesus and the chic resort of Bodrum on the Aegean Sea. Over two weeks, our Turkish Odyssey tour combines the country’s finest natural highlights with several magnificent classical sites – including Nemrut Dagi in eastern Anatolia. Other ideas could be a gentle journey through the little-visited north Aegean, exploring balmy Antalya and the bucolic sites of ancient Lycia, or travelling east from Ankara via the Hittite capital of Hattusas to Gaziantep and Sanliurfa. Turkiye’s highlights could also be combined with a seven-night private Gulet charter.
Three weeks in Turkiye
Visitors looking for a more comprehensive and in-depth tour of Turkiye will need to be able to dedicate at least three weeks to their travels. The Treasures of Turkiye tour has been designed to take you on a spectacular landmark journey through western Anatolian civilisation and visits Istanbul, the Black Sea, Cappadocia, the spiritual centre of Konya, Antalya, Pamukkale and ancient Ephesus. Combining our North Aegean and Turquoise Coast itineraries would deliver a grand three-week sweep through western Turkiye’s classical sites. At the same time, a tour featuring Istanbul, ten days exploring Southwest Turkiye (Gaziantep, Sanliurfa, Nemrut Dagi), Cappadocia, and a luxury hotel on the Aegean Sea would create another fascinating Turkish journey.
