Azerbaijan: Land of Fire is a private tour through one of the Southern Caucasus’ most intriguing and least-visited destinations. From the striking, wave-like design of Baku’s Heydar Aliyev Centre to otherworldly bubbling mud volcanoes and the soaring peaks of the Greater Caucasus, this privately guided introductory tour of Azerbaijan reveals centuries-old Silk Road heritage, dramatic mountain scenery, and bold contemporary architecture.
Begin your private tour of Azerbaijan in the vibrant capital, Baku, with a guided walk through the cobbled streets of the UNESCO-listed Icherisheher (the Old City), where you will explore the enigmatic Maiden Tower. You will also discover the Absheron Peninsula’s unique fire-worshipping heritage and admire the iconic, illuminated Flame Towers that dominate Baku’s skyline.
Leaving Baku behind, head west to Ganja, a city renowned for its Persian Safavid heritage, from which you will explore the stunningly beautiful Lake Goygol National Park. Then, continue to Sheki, a legendary Silk Road emporium, celebrated for its exquisite Khan’s Palace and handicrafts. Here, you will also enjoy an authentic Azerbaijani ‘Pilau’ masterclass that offers a superb insight into the country’s culinary traditions and warm hospitality.
Next on the Land of Fire tour, discover the prehistoric petroglyphs at the UNESCO-listed Gobustan National Park before your private Azerbaijan tour concludes in Baku.
