Set Nefru

Set Nefru is a beautifully appointed hundred-year-old dahabiya with magnificent French colonial-style interiors that was once the property of a member of the Egyptian royal family. The dahabiya is filled with Middle Eastern antiques and has been restored by its current owners to its former glory with the utmost attention to detail. Sleeping parties of between eight and ten people in five cabins (one with bunk beds), the Set Nefru Dahabiya can be privately chartered to take you and your family and friends on a serene private Nile cruise of between three and seven nights between Luxor and Aswan (and vice versa).

While cruising on the Nile and enjoying the attentive and discreet service of the dahabiya’s crew, travellers usually choose to spend their time relaxing on the shaded Upper Deck. Furnished in Egyptian style with kilims, brass lanterns, and period-style rattan furniture, the Upper Deck provides a wonderful vantage point from which you can relax and enjoy the breathtaking Nile scenery. This is also the location of the dahabiya’s fully stocked bar. By prior arrangement, onboard massages, personal fitness sessions, and yoga classes with a certified teacher can all be arranged. In the evenings, the crew can transform this space into a private cinema. On the Main Deck, guests will find the Set Nefru’s elegant and beautifully designed Saloon with its comfortable seating and library. During the cooler months, this is a lovely space for an intimate evening meal.

Leading off from a central corridor on the Main Deck, the dahabiya’s cosy air-conditioned cabins are simple yet charming in their design and have large windows as well as the finest Egyptian linens and en suite bathrooms with WC, washbasin, and shower. The Set Nefru’s spacious master suite is located at the dahabiya’s bow and has a private semi-circular balcony lined with cushioned benches. Guests chartering the Set Nefru Dahabiya should be aware that it does not have an engine and relies on a tugboat for propulsion when the wind does not permit her to sail.
