Classic antique-style dahabiya with colonial interiors

Karnak Dahabiya is a classic antique-style sailing boat resembling the boats that once ferried pashas along the Nile in the 19th century and has beautiful British colonial-style ivory-white interiors. Offering four, five- and six-night cruises from Luxor to Aswan (and vice versa), the Karnak Dahabiya and its warm crew will take you and a small group of fellow travellers along the Nile at a leisurely pace visiting small islands, local villages, and smaller archaeological sites so that you experience an Egypt that has long been removed from the tourist radar.

The Karnak has been simply but charmingly appointed and has a beautifully decorated and canopied Sundeck where you can relax during the day on cushions and comfortable chairs while contemplating the exotic Nile landscapes. When the weather is pleasant, al fresco meals are often served on the Sundeck’s dining table, while on cooler evenings, the Karnak Dahabiya’s attractively decorated Lounge provides a cosy venue for the tasty Egyptian and International cuisine that is dished up by the resident Chef. Candlelit meals served on deck under the stars, or on a Nile island, vary your dining experience and create magical memories.

Accommodation aboard the Karnak Dahabiya is in four twin-bedded cabins, four double cabins and two suites located at the stern of the boat and have their own outside balconies. All cabins aboard the Karnak are air-conditioned and equipped with an en suite bathroom with a WC, washbasin, and shower. A generator powers the electricity. Alcohol (local beer and wine) is available for purchase during your dahabiya cruise, but you may wish to have an upgraded selection stocked – please ask for details. Guests should be aware that when there is sufficient wind, the Karnak Dahabiya is propelled by its elegant twin-lateen sails. At other times, the Karnak is pulled by a tugboat.
