Dramatically-located high altitude camp
Set in the shadows of towering snow-capped mountains, the simple Tso Moriri Camp & Resort provides spectacular views of the sparkling blue Tso Moriri Lake. It is the best property to stay in this starkly beautiful and remote region of Ladakh. Accommodation comprises 15 cosy tents and five rooms, all with an ensuite bathroom, shower area, and a Western-style loo. Each simply furnished room and tent has a comfortable bed with a bedside table and jute carpets for flooring; however, given the high-altitude location and strong winds, guests should know that the rooms can be chilly after sunset. Electric blankets are available upon request.
At Tso Moriri Camp & Resort, delicious Ladakhi cuisine and a small selection of Indian and Chinese dishes are served in the communal dining room. Whilst the standard of accommodation at Tso Moriri Camp & Resort is simple and facilities are limited, this is more than made up for by the magnificent location and the opportunity to explore one of the far-flung corners of India without sacrificing all essential comforts.
