Acclimatisation stop between Manali and Leh

Set against the rugged, barren mountains, Sarchu Tented Camp is located at a high altitude (4,290m) and is a necessary overnight stop when travelling overland between Manali and Leh. The 25 simple ensuite tents are stitched out of waterproof canvas and provide superb views of the surrounding valley. Although the tents feature double-layered ground sheets (which are continuous with the walls to make your accommodation as windproof as possible), guests should be aware that strong winds combined with Sarchu’s high altitude can impact the quality of sleep and comfort levels.

Therefore, guests must carefully consider if they wish to embark on an overland journey from Manali to Leh. Facilities at Sarchu Tented Camp include a dining room serving Indian and Ladakhi cuisine. Sarchu Tented Camp relies on diesel generators to provide electricity, which is available from 6 am to 11 am and from 6 am to 8 am. Guests at Sarchu Tented Camp are not permitted to use high-current devices such as hair dryers. There is a central charging area if you need to charge your mobile phone.
