17th-century Ottoman caravanserai

A historic landmark on the edge of the old city of Nablus, Khan al-Wakalah is a beautiful 17th-century Ottoman caravanserai built on the remains of Roman and Crusader buildings that have been beautifully restored and converted into a small hotel and cultural centre.

Accommodation at Khan al-Wakalah is in 24 rooms set around the caravanserai’s courtyard, combining stunning original features with modern design.

The tourist-class standard guestrooms are air-conditioned and include a flat-screen television, Wi-Fi access and an ensuite bathroom with high-quality locally produced amenities. During warmer months, breakfast is served outside in the pleasant shaded courtyard, a space that doubles as a restaurant and coffee shop during the day and in the evenings.

In winter, meals are offered indoors. Khan al-Wakalah is ideally located for exploring the old city of Nablus on foot and is just around the corner from the city’s best knafeh (a sweet local delicacy) shop.
