Where to visit in February

As the winter drags on in many parts of the world, the thought of a February holiday becomes increasingly attractive. While London and New York shiver, Northern India enjoys daily highs in the mid-20s. February is an ideal month to explore the delights of Rajasthan or enjoy the Himalayas in India, Nepal, and Bhutan at their clearest. The tropical southern Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala are also wonderful to visit in February, as are southwest Sri Lanka and the Maldives. February is also arguably the best month to see Oman, Egypt, and the deserts of southern Tunisia, and it is an excellent time to visit Saudi Arabia before the temperatures begin to rise.

February events that should not be missed include the Abu Simbel Sun Festival in Egypt, Winter at Tantora in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, and Punakha Tshechu in Bhutan.
