Where to visit in April

April is one of the best months for travel to the Near East. There are few better times to explore Petra in Jordan or relax on the sunny shores of the Dead Sea. Israel and the Galilee are delightful in the throes of late spring in April. In Turkey, one can enjoy Istanbul’s Tulip Festival and explore its many attractions. While it is too cold to swim in the Aegean, April is a wonderful month to explore Turkey’s classical sites or walk in Cappadocia. Temperatures are perfect for walking in Oman, exploring the stunning ancient ruins of Tunisia, discovering Sri Lanka, or relaxing on a southern Indian beach. The Himalaya are another attractive April holiday option as Nepal‘s walking trails beckon. As spring arrives in the Caucasus, Georgia and Armenia, temperatures warm up, particularly in the lowlands, making it an excellent time to explore.

Spring is in the air in many parts of the world, and Turkey is in full bloom as the Istanbul Tulip Festival is celebrated. Easter and Holy Week are fascinating times to be in Israel. Witnessing Lelo Burti in Georgia and experiencing the AlUla Skies Festival in Saudi Arabia are other not-to-be-missed events.
