Shahpura House Jaipur

Shahpura House is a delightful town house that is set in a leafy residential area in downtown Jaipur. Originally the private residence of the Shekhawat Clan of Rajputs, this is an affordable, heritage-style hotel that is owned and run by the descendants of an aristocratic family. With its stucco arches,  vibrant frescoes that are typical of the Shekawati region and striking mirror work in the central hall that makes the ceiling shimmer like gold, this hotel weaves together traditional Rajput and Mughal architecture. Accommodation is in 68 simple yet tastefully furnished rooms that are decorated with antique reproductions, stained glass photos and paintings depicting typical Rajasthani life. Whilst all rooms are set overlooking the mature garden, only some feature a small balcony. At the Shahpura House Jaipur, delicious food from around the world is served in the main restaurant; while the roof-top specialty restaurant serves authentic Rajasthani cuisine and is open only for dinner. Other facilities include a bar serving Indian wines, chilled beers, an outdoor pool and a Spa offering a range traditional Ayurvedic treatments.
