The Egypt family holiday is an unforgettable adventure that takes in the great Pyramids of Giza, Tutankhamun’s fabulous golden treasures, and the Valley of the Kings before continuing to the Red Sea, where it concludes with some R&R.
Egypt is an incredible destination that will appeal to all age groups and deliver the family trip of a lifetime. Imagine your family’s excitement and fascination when travelling in the footsteps of the legendary archaeologist Indiana Jones and coming face to face with a mummy at the Egyptian Museum or following the pharaohs on (part of) their journey through to the afterlife in the Valley of the Kings, and learning about the curious customs of ancient Egyptian culture and their mysterious animal-headed gods! Between sightseeing, we have built special activities and experiences that will ensure against temple fatigue.
At the pyramids, you’ll ride a camel and enjoy an unmissable photo-op; then, in Luxor, travel by donkey through the exotic and timeless scenery of Upper Egypt, and as the sun nears the horizon after touring tombs and temples, you’ll board a traditional wooden felucca for a magical sunset cruise on the River Nile. The Egypt family holiday also includes time to relax and enjoy the beautiful freeform swimming pool at the Hilton Luxor Resort before you cross the Eastern Desert to the Red Sea coast. While at the Red Sea, you can be as active or relaxed as you choose. There is no shortage of things to do!
The family-friendly Kempinski Soma Bay is set within beautifully landscaped grounds. It has stunning lagoon-style swimming pools, a sandy beach, and a house reef perfect for snorkelling. Children and young adults alike will love the Soma Splash Aqua Park. At the same time, water sports enthusiasts may wish to try their hand at wakeboarding, scuba diving, or learning to kitesurf at one of the world’s top locations.
Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Cairo
Land at Cairo International Airport under your own arrangements (if you would like a quote for international flights, please ask us). On arrival, a Corinthian Travel representative will meet you, assist with your visas (included), and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2 Pyramids and Egyptian Museum
Start the day with a short camel ride at the famed pyramids of Giza before seeing the enigmatic Sphinx. This afternoon, visit the Egyptian Museum, where you’ll see the incredible golden treasures of the boy Pharaoh Tutankhamun and other fascinating objects that include mummified cats.
Day 3 Fly to Luxor
You’ll be transferred to Cairo Airport this morning to check in for an Egyptair flight to Luxor. On arrival, transfer to your hotel on the banks of the River Nile. After check-in, the remainder of the day is at leisure to relax, swim in the pool, and enjoy the wonderful views looking out over the Nile.

Day 4 Luxor sightseeing
Start the day with a donkey ride through the fields on Luxor’s West Bank. Then, follow the pharaohs on their journey into the afterlife, learn about the mummification process when visiting the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings, and explore the terraces of the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy more pool time.
Day 5 Luxor, Felucca Nile Sailing
A day at leisure to relax by the Nile in Luxor (or visit the Temples of Karnak and Luxor – a supplement applies). As the sun draws towards the horizon, set off across the glass-like surface of the Nile on a magical private sunset felucca cruise.
Day 6 Arrive at Soma Bay, Red Sea
Transfer through the mountains of the Eastern Desert to Soma Bay on the pristine, deep blue shores of the Red Sea coast. After check-in at the Kempinski Soma Bay, the remainder of the day will be at your leisure to relax and enjoy the extensive facilities and water sports.

Day 7 Soma Bay
A day at leisure at Soma Bay. Choose to spend your time relaxing by the pool or indulging in more active pursuits. There is no shortage of things to do! Soma Bay offers excellent snorkelling and scuba diving and is one of the world’s top locations for kitesurfing. Boat trips, horse riding on the beach, an aqua park, and an 18-hole golf course are also available.
Day 8 Soma Bay
At leisure by the Red Sea.
Day 9 Farewell to Egypt
A private transfer will take you to Hurghada International Airport.
