Tour Overview
CAIRO • GIZA • FAYOUM • LUXOR • NILE CRUISE • EL KAB • EDFU • KOM OMBO • ASWAN • CAIRO
Designed for the visitor who wishes to travel responsibly and off the beaten track, Immersive Egypt: The Safiya Dahabiya Experience delivers an authentic insight into the lifestyles of the people who live along the Nile Valley, while at the same time introducing you to the country’s timeless exotic landscapes and a beguiling selection of archaeological wonders.
The experience starts in Cairo, where you will visit the Pyramids of Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum before exploring the lively alleyways and bazaars of the medieval city. Then, drive to the rural Fayoum oasis, noted for its spellbinding desert landscapes and fine ceramics, before flying to Luxor to discover the magnificent Pharaonic temples and tombs – including the Valley of the Kings.
A four-night Nile Cruise between Esna and Aswan aboard the Safiya Dahabiya concludes the journey and is its undoubted highlight. An immersive experience like few others, while aboard the Safiya, you will fish with local fishermen, set off on rural village walks, learn about the Nile’s flora and fauna, and engage with local families. Between temple visits and island explorations, guests can recline on the extensive shaded Sun Deck, bask in the warmth of the Egyptian sun from a lounger, or cool off in the on-deck Jacuzzi. The twelve-cabin Safiya Dahabiya prides itself on a minimal use of diesel and ensures that all its activities are operated by local people so that the income generated by your visits flows back into the rural Nile communities.
