Neom & Tabuk

NEOM is the world’s most ambitious tourism project and is built on the ancient land of Midian just south of the Jordanian border. Extending inland from the dazzling blue waters of the Gulf of Aqaba, over US$500 billion is being invested in NEOM to create an extraordinary one-of-a-kind destination that aspires to be the land of the future.

Sindalah Island, an exclusive luxury gateway to the Red Sea, will be the first of the NEOM developments to launch. Oxagon will take its first residents shortly afterward and will be followed by the Trojena – a futuristic place to work, live, and holiday located inland within the mountains of NEOM. Following next will be THE LINE, a cognitive city and architectural masterpiece that redefines the concept of urban development. NEOM’s striking natural beauty and long history make the arrival of these projects all the more exciting.

On a visit to NEOM, you will also be able to discover the spectacular canyon of Wadi Tayyib Al Ism which is located at the narrowest point of the Gulf of Aqaba and is said by some to be where the prophet Moses crossed the Red Sea. Located nearby are the beautiful palm surrounded Springs of Moses and the archaeological site of Mughair Shuaib with its Nabataean Tombs. Inland, within the rugged granite NEOM mountains (Jabal al-Lawz), some biblical scholars have identified the black-topped Jabal Maqla as the ‘real’ Mt. Sinai.

West of here, NEOM’s desert scenery is nothing short of spectacular. A 4WD off-road adventure through Wadi Bajdah will take you across the dunes and belts of blood-red sands and through a maze of sandstone monoliths. Along the way, stop to see the ancient rock art and explore deep canyons formed from hairline cracks in the rock. Beyond the borders of NEOM, the visitor will find the important modern city of Tabuk, as well as the ancient oasis of Tayma, where people have been living for at least 90,000 years, the Al Shaq Canyon, and the cathedral of rocks that is Wadi Al Disah – one of Saudi Arabia’s most magnificent natural landmarks.
