In the picturesque village of Ulapane in Sri Lanka’s tea country, The Weir House is a boutique country home set on the edge of the Kandawatte forest reserve, within striking distance of Kandy’s botanical gardens, and 90 minutes by car from the quaint town of Nuwara Eliya. Perched on a mountainside and surrounded by three scenic gardens, The Weir House is nestled amongst 6 acres of clove trees, coffee and pepper plantation. The property has four immaculate rooms and suites all of which are luxuriously furnished in a minimalist style and open out onto the surrounding gardens or private verandahs. A large communal living room is elegantly decorated in a style that fuses modern touches with Sri Lankan character. Breakfasts and dinners are prepared with fresh local produce and are a highlight of any stay! The Weir House has an outdoor swimming pool and can arrange for treks and village walks in the surrounding countryside. Due to its location and layout, the property isn’t suitable for people with mobility issues or families with young children. It should be noted that The Weir House does not have an alcohol licence (but you are welcome to bring your own) nor does it serve pork.
