On the outer reaches of the southern highlands, Living Heritage sits on an 80-acre estate in the secluded village of Koslanda. With striking mountains forming a dramatic backdrop, the serene Living Heritage Koslanda, features 03 stylish suites and a standard room. Perched on one of the highest points in the estate, the three suites are set along an open pavilion that is wrapped around by a verandah, while the single room is located next to the restaurant. Inspired by traditional Kandyan style architecture, the spacious suites have central courtyards than open out on to verandahs, and have bedrooms with tasteful period furniture and king-size beds, as well as a small private gardens with Jacuzzis. The simply furnished room features an ensuite bathroom with outdoor garden shower. Traditional Sri Lankan cuisine and Continental cuisine are served in open sided dining pavilions and features Sri Lankan curries prepared from the chef’s family recipes. Facilities include an outdoor pool. The property is a convenient base for scenic soft treks, or visits to historic sites such as Buduruwagala or the fascinating 700 BC Maligavila Buddha, the largest freestanding image of Lord Buddha in Sri Lanka. Guests should be aware that Living Heritage Koslanda doesn’t have an alcohol licence.
