Originally referred to as ‘Gal Bangalawa’ (house built of stone) due to its stone façade, the Stone House Lodge is a 1940s mansion that has been fully refurbished and converted into a stylish five-bedroom boutique villa. Set in leafy, plush, suburban Kandy with picturesque views of the mountains and the valley and surrounded by lush tropical gardens, the Stone House Lodge, offers easy access to the Kandy town, and is only a short drive away from the Temple of the Tooth. This colonial style mansion is decorated with contemporary art and features luxurious interiors and warm, inviting, living spaces. The spacious rooms and suites are spread over two floors and are individually decorated by tastefully combining Kandyan heritage with contemporary style. Rooms and suites open out on to private terraces or balconies to take in the glorious mountain views. At Stone House Lodge, traditional Sri Lankan and International cuisine is served in the main dining room, but it is also possible to dine outside in the gardens.
