Tea Bungalow is a charming, converted-boutique hotel, conveniently located in a quiet corner of Fort Cochin amongst ancient churches and synagogues. Built in 1912, the building was originally the offices of a British coir and spice trading company, and then later served as guesthouse for senior managers of the Brooke Bond Tea Company. Nearly one hundred years later, the mansion has been converted into a small atmospheric hotel that retains many of its original features. The main house features 6 spacious suites spread over two floors, while the more recent addition – a two-storey garden annexe which effortlessly compliments the main house - offers 4 suites overlooking the central garden. Each of Tea Bungalow’s 10 spacious suites are named after important tea and spice ports in the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea and is individually decorated in warm neutral tones with classic period-style furniture complementing modern conveniences. The multi-cuisine restaurant serves traditional Keralan cuisine and a selection of pan-Asian and western continental food. Other facilities at Tea Bungalow Cochin include an outdoor swimming pool, a coffee lounge equipped with a TV, home-theatre system and a good collection of books and a pool side barbecue lounge.
