Set in a spectacular location deep within Oman’s Wahiba Sands, a stay at the exclusive Thesiger Luxury Private Camp is an unforgettable and magical experience that will cast your imagination back to the fantastical world of Aladdin and the 1001 Arabian Nights. While surrounded by a spectacular dunescape and the endless open spaces of the desert, your senses will be able to merge with nature – without forgoing Arabia’s luxuries. Every detail at the Thesiger Private Camp has been thought of and the service is second to none. The richly decorated and sumptuous tented interiors are complete with comfortable beds, ornate carpets, oriental lanterns, and fine Egyptian cottons – this is camping in uncommon style! Behind your tent there is a private toilet tent and separate shower tent set on a wooden base. Outside on the sands, a traditional Omani majlis sitting area of colourful low cushions provides the perfect place to relax and admire the stunning desert landscape, sip sweet Arabian coffee, or after nightfall, gaze at the billions of stars in the sky above. Breakfast and dinner at the camp are al fresco on a table covered with a linen tablecloth and set with china and glassware. All meals are created by a private chef from authentic Omani recipes using high-quality local ingredients. At night the camp comes into its own when candles are lit and a roaring campfire creates a unique ambience. It should be noted that in order to preserve the serenity of the location there is no electricity. Please also be aware that the Thesiger Luxury Private Camp is not permitted to provide alcohol but you are welcome to bring your own.
