1000 Nights Camp

The 1000 Nights Camp offers a Bedouin style experience deep within the desert of the Wahiba Sands. The camp is of a basic standard and is attractively set amongst shade giving Cineraria trees which help to emphasises the beauty of the surrounding golden sand dunes. Accommodation is in traditional simply furnished black and white goat hair tents and Sand Houses. ‘Sheikh Tents’  have an attached private bathroom equipped with shower and running water. ‘Arabic Tents’  have the use of shared bathroom facilities in a separate block. The newly built air-conditioned ‘Ameer Tents’ have attached shower rooms with WC and washbasins, and also feature reflective glass and a private terrace. Colourful matting has been laid on the tent floors and camp chairs and a table are provided if you would like to sit outside in the evenings and enjoy the views. Sand Houses are also air-conditioned and offer the highest levels of comfort and are ideal for families. Limited electricity is available. The 1000 Nights Camp’s small swimming pool is a most unexpected visiting the camp’s camels and gazelles in the petting zoo. Desert pursuits such as trekking in the dunes, sand boarding, dune bashing, horse safaris and camel rides are all available (some services at an additional charge).  A highlight of the 1000 Nights Camp desert experience comes as the sun nears the horizon and you are transported on camel back to the top of the nearby dunes to watch the sun dip beneath the horizon. Dinner is always a colourful and tasty affair with Arabic starters being accompanied by a traditional Barbecue. Private meals in the desert can be arranged (supplement applies). After nightfall, sit back and look up at the millions of stars that comprise the stunning night sky and savour the silence of the desert.  Please note that the 1000 Nights Camp does not hold an alcohol licence.
