A cruise aboard the luxury dhow Rubba is the ultimate way to discover the dramatic landscape of Oman’s exceptionally scenic Musandam province with its deep inaccessible inlets, craggy peaks, and bays hemmed in by sheer cliffs. Whether you choose to join a shared two or three night fixed departure sailing on the first Sunday of every month, or wish to charter the yacht on a private basis, a luxury Musandam dhow cruise aboard the 96 foot long Rubba is simply unforgettable. Experiences and activities that are the making of a Musandam dhow cruise include spotting pods of dolphins frolic in the warm waters of the Gulf, kayaking through isolated khors (fjords), snorkelling and swimming in crystal clear ocean waters, and visiting remote and cut off villages where time has stood still for centuries. While aboard the Rubba you will be looked after by a well-trained crew and enjoy the warm hospitality of your English speaking Omani captain. Meals are taken al fresco on the spacious sundeck where there are 3 large dining tables and an awning to keep the sun at bay. Delicious fresh Omani and international buffets and barbecues are an integral feature of the Rubba dining experience, although it must be noted that alcohol is not served, so if you wish to enjoy a tipple at sunset you should pack accordingly. Arguably, the best place from which to admire Musandam’s magnificent coastal scenery is from the Rubba’s gunwale which is lined with plentiful comfy cushions. This is an equally tempting spot if you fancy taking an afternoon nap! Accommodation aboard the Rubba is in four air-conditioned cabins and two suites all of which have double beds, porthole, and a private toilet and shower. All cabins and suites are equipped with a wardrobe, chest of draws, mirror and smoke detector. It should be noted that the shape of the cabins and the size of beds aboard the Rubba is not uniform. The two suites are respectively 10’ x9’ feet and 10.5’ x 7’ feet in area, while standard cabins are 6.5’ x 4.2’ feet or slightly larger.
