Souly EcoLodge

Souly EcoLodge is located on a long, wide and uncrowded white sand beach overlooking the Indian Ocean in a spectacular setting between Taqah and Salalah, just metres away from a freshwater creek (Khor Souly) where camels, foxes and birds come to drink. An ideal choice if you wish to escape from chain-hotels and are looking for some peace and quiet, Souly EcoLodge offers a rustic ‘no news, no shoes’ approach to beach living. Constructed using natural locally sourced materials, accommodation is in 21 spacious wooden bungalows, 17 of which have spectacular ocean views, and 4 limited side ocean views. Each air-conditioned bungalow is simply furnished and has large panoramic windows, an open-air shower built using natural stones, mini-fridge, and an open-air veranda with wooden chairs. A tasty, but limited, menu featuring classic Arabian dishes (rice, vegetables, meat and fish) as well as fresh juices and fruits is available at Souly EcoLodge’s restaurant. Campfire dinners are arranged three times a week. Aside, from the restaurant there is a coffee shop where guests can enjoy fresh mocktails, tea, coffee and shish as well as relax over a game of backgammon and dominoes. A ‘Bedouin Corner’ with three traditional Bedouin tents furnished with carpets and poufs is another area where you can while away the hours. Limited Wi-Fi is available in public areas. Souly EcoLodge brings an alternative style of accommodation to the Salalah hotel scene, but prospective guests should be aware that alcohol is not served, rooms do not have televisions, and facilities are limited (ie. no swimming-pool).
