Surrounded by wilderness; Dera Amer Elephant camp is set within 160 acres of an idyllic private estate and is located in the foothills of the rugged Aravalli mountain range near the historic yellow-hued fort of Amer. Popular with families and couples alike, the Dera Amer Elephant camp was created to offer guests the very special experience of outdoor living with friendly elephants. During your time at the camp, you will have the chance to feed the elephants, bathe and face-paint them, gain an insight into elephant behaviour before accompanying them for a walk through the surrounding countryside. This family run private camp is offered to guests on an exclusive basis and features accommodation in simple, hand-crafted tents that are appointed with campaign-style furniture and complete with comforts including electric lighting and attached bathrooms (shower only). Meals at Dera Amer Elephant Camp are all homemade and served alfresco. Upon request (supplement applies), horse rides through the picturesque wilderness can be arranged. Dera Amer Elephant Camp is about 20 minutes from the Amer Fort and 45 minutes from Jaipur.
