A jewel in Iran’s accommodation scene, the Manouchechri House is an exquisitely restored 18th century mansion located in a historic residential neighbourhood within walking distance of Kashan’s lively bazaar. Beautiful original features and decorative motifs including stucco mouldings, decorative mirror work panels, lattice windows and Khatai brock floors feature throughout the hotel and are testimony to the current owner’s care and attention to detail when bringing this once derelict building back to life. Each of Manouchechri House’s eight ensuite and air-conditioned rooms is unique is style and décor and overlooks a peaceful traditional Persian courtyard with a reflecting pool and pomegranate trees. Rooms are spread between three floors and are all equipped with a writing desk, min-fridge, Wi-Fi and safety deposit box but don’t have televisions. The views from the top floor rooms are the best but access is up a narrow set of stairs which some may find challenging. Guests should be aware that noise can be a factor at the hotel as voices easily float up from the courtyard into the guest rooms. An inspiring selection of local and regional dishes is available in the hotel’s restaurant where you will dining under high vaulted ceiling while bathed in light from the coloured glass windows. Other facilities at the Manouchechri House include a giftshop offering a selection of Persian handicrafts and books and an art gallery which is dedicated to showcasing the work of young emerging Iranian artists.
