A tour of Egypt and Sudan is a magnificent adventure that in many ways represents the ultimate prize for enthusiasts of Egyptology. This private tour will reveal the amazing complementary ancient civilisations that once flourished in the Nile Valley between Cairo and Khartoum. Tour highlights will include gazing on the ancient pyramids of at Giza that contrast so sharply with the stunning late steep-sided pyramids of Kush at Meroe and Napata; as well as visiting the southern ‘birthplace’ at of the god Amun at Jebel Barkal, prior to seeing his hallowed sanctuary of Karnak in Luxor; and exploring the enigmatic Kushite temples at Musawwarat es-Sufra and Naga, then viewing the little known Nubian temples at the National Museum in Khartoum that were saved from the rising waters of Lake Nasser. Along the way you will also visit the Kushite necropolises at Nuri and El Kurru, take in the magnificent scenery of Upper Egypt over the course of a four night Nile cruise. The visitor to Egypt and Sudan will be amazed at the scale and volume of archaeological treasures that await as well as being struck by the sheer beauty of the landscape.
