This privately guided Tunisia family holiday explores the legacy of the country’s rich Roman and Arab past and includes two full days to relax in comfort by the Mediterranean Sea. Located on the southern shores of the Mediterranean, within 3 hours flight from London, Tunisia is accessible and blessed with a warm sunny climate, making its an ideal destination for a summer Tunisia family holiday or half-term visit in May or October. The country is noted for the quality of its beaches; spectacular Roman treasures; bustling medieval Arab medinas; beautiful landscape swathed in olive trees; and excellent shopping opportunities. Starting in the capital Tunis, you will discover the ruins of ancient Carthage, once capital of a great empire, see the magnificent Bardo Museum, and walk through the intoxicating streets of Tunis’ walled medieval medina. The great Roman ruins of Dougga and Bulla Regia, as well as the magnificent amphitheatre of El Djem are also visited, as is Kairouan the fourth most holy city in the Muslim world. Concluding the Tunisia family holiday are four nights by the sea at the UNESCO World Heritage listed resort town of Sousse with its fine white sandy beaches and extensive leisure opportunities.
