WHEN TO TRAVEL: EGYPT

Weather in Egypt

Egypt has one of the world’s sunniest climates. The peak season for travel coincides with the cooler months and is from October to March. In December and January it can be too cool to swim in unheated pools. On the coast and in the Nile Delta the Khamsin desert winds can blow strongly between March and May and send temperatures soaring. It is very hot during the summer months of May to September, but the climate is more bearable due to it being a dry heat. Egypt’s Mediterranean coast is an exception to the norm. Between November and March, although warm, it can be cloudy and has short periods of rain.
